The Vatican has confirmed that Pope Francis will visit three African countries in November.
The papal visit, the Pontiff’s first to the continent, will include trips to Kenya, Uganda and Central African Republic.
“Accepting the invitation issued by the respective heads of state and the bishops, His Holiness Francis will make an Apostolic Trip to Kenya from November 25 to 27 2015, Uganda from November 27 to 29, and the Central African Republic from November 29 to 30,” said a statement released by the Vatican earlier today.
The programme for the trip will be published “in due course”, the statement added.
Pope Francis is scheduled to visit Cuba and America later this month. He will be in Cuba from September 19-22 and America from September 22-27.
